Educational Biography
I qualified in 2005 from Queens University Belfast with a BSc Hons (1:1) in adult nursing. I completed post-graduate qualifications in Palliative Care (2007) and Dementia Care (2011) at Ulster University, before completing my PhD in 2017 at Ulster University.
Professional Biography
I am currently a lecturer in Nursing at Ulster University. In my academic position, I am the course director for MSc in Nursing and MSc in Palliative Care. My clinical background is in palliative care, with a particular interest in end-of-life care provided to people living with dementia. I am currently chair of the Northern Ireland Palliative Care Research Forum, as well as outgoing secretary for INDEN. My research interests include advance care planning, as well as symptom management.
